Ilonggo Pop is an album comprised of 11 songs all written in the Philippine’s 3rd largest language: Hiligaynon or Ilonggo with over 9.1 million speakers nationwide. These speakers are mostly situated in Western Visayas [Iloilo, Capiz, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental], Soccsksargen (Sox) : [South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato], and Metro Manila.

This album is history in the making as it is the first to put out an official compilation of contemporary Ilonggo Songs internationally. The Ilonggo Pop movement was initiated by Philpop as the latter inspires regional movements across the country starting 2017.

Despite the album’s integrity to using the Ilonggo language, its musicality greatly varies from Folk, Waltz, Reggae, Hip Hop, to modern Pop, Smooth Jazz, Lounge, Lofi, Blues Rock, and Easycore. All of the songs employ great creative technicalities and have received tremendous acknowledgements not just from speakers of Ilonggo but from other Filipinos who speak Bisaya, and Tagalog.

The album is currently available on over 15 digital platforms including, but not limited to, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and Youtube.

Just recently, three of the songs on the album, Amo Gid Na Ya, Ara Lang Ko Di, and Asta Sa Asta were picked up by Spotify’s mainstream playlists. While Amo Gid Na Ya by Don Flores ft. XT on Sax is listed in Spotify’s “OPM Says Chillax” playlist with over 1.1M followers, and “Pinoy Indie Mix” playlist with 120K followers, Asta Sa Asta by Leland Larona ft Butch Coronel II and Ara Lang Ko Di by Don Flores are listed in Spotify’s “OPM Workday Marathon” playlist with over 140K followers.
